Open circuit cooling tower

Open circuit cooling towers have a direct connection between the water to be cooled and the air. An open cooling tower is a type of heat exchanger that uses direct contact with air to cool water. The heat transfer occurs through the heat exchanger between air and water, but mainly because a small amount of water to be cooled evaporates. This allows cooling to a temperature lower than the outdoor air temperature.
